Nicholas Hollan
From HereInCincinnati
[edit] Bio
Nicholas was born in Finneytown, raised in Blue Ash and graduated from Sycamore High School. His first experience in community service occurred following the tornado disaster that ripped through neighboring Montgomery in April of 1999. Nicholas immediately volunteered with the relief effort and assisted by removing debris and searching for salvageable items.
While residing in an apartment in Clifton, Nicholas attended the University of Cincinnati and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. As a student, Nicholas supported himself by working at several local businesses including the Cincinnati History Museum at Cincinnati Union Terminal as an Exhibits Programs Specialist.
Following the hurricanes in the Gulf Coast, Nicholas again stepped up, to volunteer with the American Red Cross. He was trained in Mass Care, Shelter Operations and First Aid and sent to Dallas, Texas to aid the relief efforts following Hurricane Rita. Nicholas supervised the 40 member Dallas Damage Assessment Team which ascertained the level of damage on the ground and aided the victims requiring assistance.
After closure of the Dallas facility, Nicholas returned home and accepted a fund-raising position for the American Red Cross, Cincinnati Area Chapter. He continues to give back to the community, serving on the Board of Directors for both United Cerebral Palsy and the Westwood Civic Association, while also assisting with the Juvenile Diabetes annual walk at Kings Island. Nicholas has also volunteered on several political campaigns on the local and national level.
Nicholas and his wife Meghan, a Price Hill native and Seton graduate, reside in Westwood.
