George Zamary

George Zamary is a Republican candidate for City Council in the 2009 City Council elections.

Upon completing law school in 1998, he moved to Cincinnati and began his legal career clerking for the Honorable Arthur M. Ney, Jr. of the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas. George then went to work as an Associate with Rendigs, Fry, Kiely & Dennis, LLP. His area of expertise was civil defense litigation with particular emphasis on construction matters. George is presently a Partner with The Drew Law Firm Co., LPA practicing civil/commercial litigation, estate planning, corporate, and election law.
George has also been involved with the Fine Arts Fund’s Business Volunteers for the Arts program. Through this program he began working with Know Theatre of Cincinnati where he participated on the theater’s Fundraising Committee and was active in the selection of the theater’s new location at 1120 Jackson Street. His energetic involvement and solid contributions led to the Know Theatre’s Board to select him as President of the Board of Directors in 2006. In May 2007, he was honored to be elected to a second term as President. He presently remains on the board today.
George served on the Steering Committee of The Urbanists, a grassroot organization of concerned citizens who share his vision of a revitalize Cincinnati. In 2004, George was selected to serve as the leader of The Urbanists where he formed lasting ties with civic, political and community leaders throughout the city. During this time he facilitated presentations concerning redevelopment of Fountain Square and Over-The-Rhine.
He remains active with the Hamilton County Republican Party. He is presently co-chair of its Leadership Council and serves on the board of the East Side Republican Club.

Zamary, 36, ran for council the first time in 2007 as an independent. He’s lives in Hyde Park and is an attorney with The Drew Law Firm Co., LPA and also sits on the Know Theatre’s board of directors. Zamary is endorsed in this race by the Hamilton County Republican Party and CincyPAC.
